Empowering People to Work Their Way out of the Poverty Cycle

Over the last 27 years, we have met so many skilled and enthusiastic people who are eager to work and generate an income for themselves and their families. Unfortunately, these people don’t have access to opportunities that can help them better their lives and instead they remain trapped in the vicious poverty cycle.

We want to empower as many people as we can with sustainable ways of helping themselves and their communities. Our livelihoods projects are specifically tailored to the needs of each community and can range from creating apprenticeships for young people to ensuring farming families have the right equipment to earn a decent living.

How we help

Our livelihood projects vary depending on the community we are helping. The options are endless, but some of the things we have done in the past include:

Livestock such as goats, sheep, and cows ensure farming communities have a constant supply of milk for young children.

Rickshaws and bicycles are environmentally friendly and cost-effective ways for families to get to and from school and work

Growing fruit trees provides a secure and sustainable income to poor families for generations to come

Honey production kits ensures beekeepers have everything they need to stay protected

Supporting vocational training so that people can upskill and improve their chances of getting better paying work.

Seeds and agricultural equipment allow farming families to properly cultivate their land so they can sell their harvest to buy food and other essentials.
